Facilities and Plant Engineering

Plant/facilities engineering encompasses the design, construction, installation, modification and protection of the physical facilities and machinery. It also facilitates the operation and maintenance of the entire plant. We work with plant engineering and maintenance departments to map out  facilities, manage data and create needed documentation, drawings or specialty illustrations.

Klass Inc. can help your plant engineering department meet its responsibilities, including:
  • Maintaining a master plan for use in future expansions or improvement projects
  • Creating layouts and drawings for plant/facility improvements, machine installations, rearrangements or other projects
  • Maintaining current "As-built" or "Record Set" drawings and files for all plant layouts and facilities
  • Facilitating construction activities with drawing data and information
We will go where needed to acquire data  – from pits below the manufacturing floor to rooftops and anywhere in between. We manage the drawing data so we can pull together the crucial elements of a project for planning, installation and maintenance.

Information is valuable.  Your facilities database can be layered, combined or filtered to create the information you need.  All facilities can be shown together, independently or in any combination you require.  Klass Inc. can help you create and maintain facility  data so you can make efficient,  informed decisions quickly.

Energy Management System with Spill Plan

  • Combination of select facilities are mapped together
  • Spill plan was required by state regulations

  • Enlarged spill plan and direction of drainage
  • All items are named and numbered for tracking purposes

Picture

Plantwide Roof Openings

Regulations regarding permits required a drawing showing locations for all openings. We worked with a team to collect this information and then illustrated the data.

Attributes assigned to Openings

Ten different characteristics were assigned and tracked, including stack size, curb size, description, installation date, manufacturer, CFM and permit required. Data can be extracted from the drawing to a spreadsheet.
